About the Course
In this course we continue the connections between algebra and geometry as well as develop the notion of functional relation between quantities. We will study arbitrary degree polynomials and general functions.
Topics include: functional relations between quantities, graphs of functions, representations of functions, examples of functions, transformations of functions, higher degree polynomials, fundamental theorem of algebra, multiplicity of roots, qualitative behavior of polynomials, factoring methods for polynomials, binomial theorem, combinations, Pascal's triangle, Vieta relations, polynomial division, conic sections, equation of an ellipse, equation of a hyperbola.
